GPS and Location Tracking Acknowledgement
How duty-related GPS information is collected, used, shared, and stopped within Patrol Forge Multiple Company.
GPS AND LOCATION TRACKING ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
This draft is provided for operational configuration and must be reviewed for the employment, privacy, surveillance, consent, collective-bargaining, and location-tracking laws that apply to each organization and the people it employs or contracts. Patrol Forge LLC does not determine whether a customer has a lawful basis to track a particular person.
1. Purpose and scope
Patrol Forge Multiple Company allows authorized officers and other approved personnel to share device location information while working. Location information supports dispatch operations, officer safety, assignment coordination, emergency response, welfare checks, incident review, route awareness, and verification of service activity.
This acknowledgement applies when a user activates an on-duty or location-sharing function through the Patrol Forge Multiple Company website, Officer Portal, installed application, or another authorized interface.
2. Information that may be collected
While location sharing is active, the service may process:
- latitude and longitude;
- location accuracy and the date and time reported by the device;
- altitude, direction of travel, or speed when the device makes those values available;
- duty status, unit status, assigned property, vehicle, or CAD call;
- device-session and technical information needed to secure, sequence, and troubleshoot location reports; and
- the start and stop times for duty and location-sharing sessions.
The service is not intended to continuously collect location information after the user has gone off duty and the active location-sharing session has ended. A device or browser may retain operating-system information outside Patrol Forge LLC's control.
3. When tracking begins and ends
Location sharing begins only after an authorized user is placed on duty, starts the applicable GPS-sharing function, and grants the device or browser permission required to obtain location information. The interface displays the user's duty and GPS-sharing status.
Going off duty ends the active Patrol Forge location-sharing session and instructs the device or browser to stop reporting GPS information. Signing out, closing a browser, locking a device, losing connectivity, disabling location permission, or an operating-system restriction may interrupt reporting, but those events should not be treated as confirmation that the user's duty status was changed. Users should confirm that the Officer Portal displays Off Duty at the end of a shift.
4. Who may view location information
Location information is limited to authenticated users with an authorized operational purpose, subject to tenant, company, role, capability, assignment, and context controls. This may include authorized dispatchers, supervisors, administrators, and other personnel approved by the applicable Dispatch Organization or Serviced Company.
A standing aid agreement does not by itself expose an officer's location to another company. Cross-company visibility may occur only during an authorized aid activation or emergency and remains subject to the system's applicable access rules. The officer's home company remains identified when information is shared.
5. Emergency and safety use
When an officer activates an emergency function, the service may display the officer's most recently received location to authorized dispatch personnel and eligible responders. GPS information may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate and must not be the sole basis for a life-safety decision.
Patrol Forge Multiple Company is not a replacement for 911, radio communications, telephone communications, or an organization's emergency procedures. Users must follow their employer's or contracting organization's emergency and backup-communication requirements.
6. Accuracy and availability
Location accuracy depends on the device, GPS signal, network connection, browser or application state, battery settings, permission settings, and other conditions outside Patrol Forge LLC's control. Reports may be incomplete, delayed, duplicated, rejected, or unavailable. Maps and proximity indicators are operational aids and should be verified through appropriate communication channels when accuracy is material.
7. User and customer responsibilities
Users are responsible for using an authorized device, protecting account credentials, reviewing the displayed duty and GPS status, granting only intended device permissions, keeping required applications current, and promptly reporting an unexpected or inaccurate tracking condition.
The applicable Dispatch Organization, Serviced Company, employer, or contracting entity is responsible for determining the lawful basis for tracking; giving all notices required by law, contract, policy, or collective-bargaining obligation; obtaining any required consent; defining permitted business uses; training users; responding to access or deletion requests; and preventing retaliation or other prohibited use.
8. Retention, security, and requests
Location records may be retained according to the applicable customer configuration, service agreement, legal requirements, incident needs, security requirements, and Patrol Forge LLC's published privacy and data-processing terms. Reasonable administrative and technical controls are used to protect the information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Questions about an employer's or dispatch company's use of location information should first be directed to that organization. Questions concerning Patrol Forge LLC's handling of information may be submitted using the contact information in the Privacy Policy or by mail to:

9. Acknowledgement
When presented with an acknowledgement control, the user confirms that the user:
- has read and understands this GPS and Location Tracking Acknowledgement;
- understands what location and related operational information may be collected while location sharing is active;
- understands the authorized operational purposes and visibility described above;
- understands how to review duty status and end the active location-sharing session;
- will not rely on GPS information or the Patrol Forge emergency function as the sole life-safety communication method; and
- will contact the applicable administrator if the user does not understand, cannot comply with, or is not authorized to accept the acknowledgement.
If the user does not agree or lacks authority to acknowledge these terms, the user should not activate location sharing and should contact the user's supervisor or administrator.
